Do you have a door that can be locked? With a key. To prevent theft of a dog.

Maggie,
Our Cackle Box’s arent meant for dogs. We do have a Side Latch Rod Kit that can be attached to our kennel doors. All you would need to do is add a pad lock to it.

What is the best height for the box to transport pheasants, the 7 or 9 inch?
Joe Mallard – February 1, 2020
Is this a good option for releasing birds in pairs. We shoot released quail. We typically put two out. Drive a ways and put another set. Does this doors system allow for easy/safe way to get just two birds out. Is there anyway for you to add a slide or block in the box so you can separate the pair you’re about to release from the others. I like your kennels. Thank you.

I have 4 of your older models and 7 of the new models of the Cackle Box and I like the older model a lot better because of the lip on the bottom of the door. The new model does not have the lip and all of the bird crap gets kicked out of the box and ends up in your vehicle instead of staying in the cackle box.

Are the doors spring loaded on these bird boxes?
orders@rufflandkennels.com – October 9, 2019
They are not spring loaded. They just close with gravity

Love the kennel. Also got the water tote.

The doors need some work. Maybe a way to lock the door shut. I was driving down the road and had 4 pheasants in my cackle box. All of a sudden I saw a pheasant fly up from the back of my truck. When I stopped, I only had 3 left. Not sure how the one got out so now I will have to do something extra to make sure they cant get out.

Hello Christopher, Thank you for your message. We are sorry to hear of the negative experience you had with our Cackle Boxes. We have explored different options for securing or locking the door, however the majority of our users prefer the gravity drop door for easy in loading and unloading. We will continue to search for options that will accommodate all of our customers. We truly appreciate your feedback.
